77.That is how many reviewers before me gave this a 4-star rating on my Amazon app on Apple TV. That number is usually too low to register on my radar. I was mad Amazon even said this was a movie I might like. I don’t normally watch silly Nazi films. Like zombies, they are done to death and, well, there is the news for the past few years.So guess how surprised I was when I watched the preview to see what 77 people, whom I assumed had poor choices in movies, found to be an average of 4-star worthy. GUESS WHAT!! I still decided to watch it and now after watching it all the way through laughing until the end catching the very sly message hidden in the film from the beginning for those who are familiar with how propaganda works and film history (avoiding spoilers here) the film is a fun absurd ride through an alternative history and future, when this was released they went with near future.The ending is a bummer if you pay attention to the scene running through the credits. It is something that is a slight lesson that humanity will never learn in time. But it does play into what I found is a sequel!!I wanted to give this 5 stars, at the beginning of this review it was tossed about between my significant other and myself. That 5th star which I have decided to provide after all is for 77 people convincing me with their ratings to even watch the preview to begin with, let alone the entire film. 5 stars for proving me wrong. I’ll watch this again soon. Now 78 people will convince 79 and 80 soon enough that they won’t lose time watching this. I can honestly say, this is better than some more serious historical movies released in the past 2 years over Nazi defeats.If you have read this far, another thing to help sway you that I never knew going into this film, people actually went to work on this film behind the scenes. I read end credits. Just like I count production companies on opening credits. You know if it exceeds 5-6 companies you are in trouble. In this case multiple teams worked to get this movie made in multiple countries. I worked in film long ago and it was an idea to get a movie done across borders but seen as very improbable due to budgets and creative differences and cultural. THEY FIGURED IT OUT!! I had to make sure the crews got recognition because I watched the crawl go by and saw the Team of Directors and laughed to myself on that. I worked on a film with a team of directors once and they came to blows. Congrats again, you all did great from casting choices to knowing where to spend a little extra on the budget.I have watched this film and have followed all guidelines and Amazon keeps blocking my review.
