Samurai Jack perhaps has some of the best music of any cartoon series, ever, and it has James L Venable to thank. Iron Monkey, while not the best of movies, also shows off Venable's talent in freedom. This is first-rate modernized classical Japanese theme-music (is that a genre?). Its reminiscent of the music from The Seven Samurai and Ran, this soundtrack is a sheer delight.He has also worked on more poppy pop-art, like "The Powerpuff Girls," (also by the team that brought you Samurai Jack) and Kevin Smith's "Jay and Silent Bob Strike back."Give it a listen and a buy, especially if you want to be on the edge of what's "hot."
