Product Description Iron Ghost contains several Rock/Pop styles including rock, industrial, metal, acoustic guitar, and swing. All songs were written, performed, recorded and engineered by Robert Ellis. The CD was mastered by The Kitchen. Review "I listened to your CD all weekend. All the songs are excellent. The ones that have stuck in my mind the most are: the haunting refrain of "John", the swingin' mystery of "Tommy Angel's Widow", and the intensity of that "Journal Entry" song (Windmill). You are a master!" -- Fan Mail after the Listening Party"MUSICIAN ROCKS WALSINGHAM WITH NEW CD" "Walsingham Academy swarmed with music fans on Friday at noon when Robbie Ellis, a 17-year-old senior, released his CD Iron Ghost to a crowd of friends, family, and teachers. The principal waited in line to buy the CD and get Ellis' autograph. Many songs on Iron Ghost have influences from Ellis' favorite musicians, Metallica and David Bowie. And one song shows influences from swing music. "His music is amazing," Yoder said. But Ellis is humble about his musical skills. If you say he's talented, he will say that anybody could do this, "you just have to be diligent." -- Virginia Gazette - local newspaper"Robbie Ellis, a 17-year-old senior at Walsingham Academy in Williamsburg, recently presented a $1750 check to CDR. The $1750 represents half of the proceeds thus far from the sale of his new CD Iron Ghost. The other half was donated by Robbie to the American Cancer Society. He hopes to raise a total of $10,000 and will give $5000 to each organization. Humble about his talent and generosity, the young musician wants to help those less fortunate than he. "All people are not born with the same advantages," said Robbie. "If I am fortunate enough at 17 to be able to put out an album, then I want to do anything and everything I can to help others." "Although Robbie seems like a typical teen, his talent and interest in helping others are extraordinary," said Corinne Garland, executive director of Child Development Resources. "Just meeting this exceptional young person makes me hopeful for the future." -- "Open Lines" - quarterly magazine About the Artist RED is Robert Ellis. He was 17 when he released Iron Ghost, his first album, on November 12, 1999 at a listening party at his high school in Williamsburg, VA. Since that time he has sold over 500 copies of the CD locally and enjoyed local notoriety. All of his proceeds from the sale of the CDs have been given to two charities, American Cancer Society and Child Development Resources. He plans to perform with his live band, RED, beginning this summer. He has been recommended for the Presidential Scholarship in Music at Wake Forest University, and he plans to continue his study of classical music in college this fall. His other interests include film scoring and composing. Band members: As noted in the CD credits, the drums on tracks 1,2,5, and 8 were performed by Bruce Crump who was hired as a studio drummer, and some additional keyboard work was done by Mitch McRobie, a high school friend. The live band members' names will be released this summer when their performance schedule is set. See more
