This pencil does a good job of transferring a traced pattern to light colored fabric. It will not wash out, so be careful with application.Press hard on paper to get enough was to transfer onto fabricGreat pencil! I was using red in another brand. With that one, had to press hard on the pencil when tracing and had to press down very firmly on the iron with high heat to get rather faint lines--and this was red on yellow fabric! With the Clover was able to trace with normal pressure and iron only a few seconds with medium pressure to get easy to see lines--blue pencil on red fabric.Works very well. Barely need to draw anything and hit it with the iron oh yeah! Makes a beautiful easy to see line! So much potential for this.Worked for my daughter’s embroidery project perfectly. This iron-on transfer pencil works great. Easy to use.I embroider towels. This pencil allows me to trace anything, and iron it on for stitching. The pencil transfers well, but be aware, this does NOT wash out! I've tried several methods and so far no luck. I used this for a quilt and I fear the quilt is now ruined. I emailed Clover for a recommendation on how to remove the pencil and have had no response. I should have tested this myself before using it on an entire quilt.I have yet to try it out on the cloth as yet. Still in preparation stage . Found the transfer adhere on to the wood well though ?. Funny enough it comes off easily when using a rubber. I use Faber Castell Rubber to rub off what that has been adhere to the wood. I am hoping it will be a fixed adhere when I use the iron to iron it on to adhere it to the cloth. All in the experimental stage for me. I am using different methods. To try to see which works best.Update: trying out on linen cloth with red and blue with writing and designs. I had to use the hottest settings on my iron (not the best ) not on steam. Place several secs on each sections. This is my own pattern made from scratch. I tried washing it with detergent to wash off the pattern it did not wash off any of the pattern . So there u go guys. Not washable at all.Ironing the transfer that has been created with this pen is tricky. It either doesn't transfer entirely, or it smears. I trace the pattern carefully and iron with the right temperature, and haven't had this problem with other pens. It also does not wash off of the fabric. When I've tried to wash the botched pattern off of a white panel, it didn't even fade, even though I used whitener and good detergent in hot water. So, the fabric is then wasted, and if there are lines showing after you've embroidered over it, they will not come out. This works, but kind of assumes you're going to get the thing sewn within a couple of days. Mine has faded over a month (I have a life outside of sewing... unfortunately) so much that I cannot see what I began, so the whole thing will probably end up binned and I will have to restart with a new, more permanent kind of way to put my design onto the fabric (cotton canvas, pencil-type drawing?? Any advice appreciated)I really really wanted to like this product but unfortunately, it just does not work. I tried so many times to get it to transfer but my best attempt resulted in a faint smudge of red in one corner of my fabricAbsolutely useless and not fit for purpose. I have used these transfer pens/pencils for many year and this one simply does not transfer the design to the material sadly. Perhaps I got the dud.
